Another solid turnout for a Saturday 9-Pin No-Tap at Crestwood Bowl
On Saturday March 3rd, 92 bowlers came out to Crestwood Bowl to participate in the monthly 9-Pin No-Tap tournament.  Even though there were a handful of no shows, the tournament went on full speed ahead with 67 men and 25 women.  The returning champions did not make it back to defend their titles, so new champions were found.

This tournament was scaled back to two tournament directors. Van Lorenz from 106.5 The Arch, was there to help out with his golden pipes for announcements after each game.  He also offered Missouri Lottery scratcher tickets to anyone that brought up winning strike pot tickets, and answered a Pete Weber trivia question correctly.  The tournament director bowling this month was Josh Lara. He had a decent showing with an 838 for the three games during qualifying.  There were 7 people that qualified for the $20 gift card to QuikTrip, which was won by Joe Dolenz.

The addition of a ball raffle was a big success! Next month Crestwood is raffling off the new Storm Vivid. Saturday's winner of the new Hammer Jet Black Taboo was Neal Sanson.  Neal also was a big winner on strike pot tickets.

This 9-Pin tournament seemed to favor the bowlers from the St. Charles area.  The top qualifiers were Matt Sutter with an 864 and Melissa Townsend with an 803.  Scores were high at this 9-pin with twenty 800 series, with the cut for each division at 761 for men, and 631 for women.

Congratulations to the winners, Donnie Engle with a 300 game in game 4 with an 807, beating out the other two bowlers that shot 300 in the finals.  The woman's division winner is a repeat winner, Leigh Anne Price with a 266 in the finals, beating her sister by 10.

Crestwood Bowl expects another great turnout next month on April 7th.  Reserve your spots early.  Crestwood works closely with St. Charles Lanes and wants to remind you to visit St. Charles on St. Patrick's Day (3/17/12).  It will be festive with green beer, corned beef and cabbage, and they promise some surprises.
